Micayla

Micayla got her start in the veterinary field when she was 19, and has been in the profession for 11 years. She joined Skaer in 2019, where she has spent much of her career focused on surgery. She has been part of the Skaer team for six years, going on seven this November.

Micayla’s love of animals extends well beyond the clinic. At home she shares her life with her husband, Shawn, and their dog Kratos — who she adopted as a two-month-old puppy just two weeks into her very first job in the field.

Outside of work, Micayla stays busy with a fun mix of hobbies. She plays sand volleyball, and she’s an enthusiastic reader who loves buying books, reading them, and even bedazzling them.
