- Routine soft-tissue surgery — including spays, neuters, lump removals, wound repairs, and other common procedures. These are some of the most frequently performed surgeries in veterinary medicine, and in our hands, we strive to make them the safest.
- More complex soft-tissue procedures — when something more involved is needed, our team has the experience, equipment, and training to handle it. We’ll always be honest with you about what we can do here and when a specialist referral would better serve your pet.
- Pre-surgical bloodwork and evaluation — before any surgery, we run diagnostic tests to make sure your pet is healthy enough for the procedure and to help us customize their care.

Surgery Questions Answered
How do I prepare my pet for surgery?
We’ll give you specific pre-operative instructions when you book, including fasting guidelines. In general, pets should not eat after midnight the night before a morning procedure. Water is generally not a problem during the night.
Will my pet be in pain after surgery?
Pain management is built into every procedure from start to finish. We use nerve blocks and post-operative pain medication to keep your pet comfortable. We’ll send you home with clear instructions and medication if needed.
How long will recovery take?
It depends on the procedure. Routine spays and neuters typically have a recovery period of around 10–14 days. More complex procedures may take longer.
When should I call after surgery?
If your pet seems unusually quiet or uncomfortable, isn’t eating after 24 hours, or you notice swelling, discharge, or opening of the incision site — call us. We’d always rather hear from you than have you worry at home.
